Biography of Japanese Painter
Shiokawa Bunrin (1808 - 1877)
Bunrin was born in Kyoto.
Bunrin lost his father and mother when he was small.
He became a pupil of Okamoto Toyohiko.
Bunrin was good at drawing Sansui landscape paintings.
In 1855, he participated in building the Kyoto Imperial Palace, painted
the Fusuma-e drawings.
In 1868, he established the Joun-Sha, painters' organization.
