The eldest son of Nakabayashi Chikuto.
At first, Chikukei studied painting under his father, later, he became
best disciple of Yamamoto Baiitsu.
He brought the Western painting methods into his painting style.

Red leaves and a locust cricket are drawn simply and artistically.
