Born in Ohmi Province.
Lived in Yamashina of Kyoto.
Studied painting under Gyokuoh, Buddhistic priest painter.
Gyokurin was good at drawing bamboo in the Suiboku painting method.

Description

The scroll is a little foxed overall as it was drawn years ago.
There are small holes, tears and stains at the top part of the mounting.
Small spots on the drawing part are also recognized.
As a whole, the condition of this scroll is so-so.
Bamboo (Sasa) is drawn artistically in the Suiboku, Japanese traditional painting method.
Drawn with only black Sumi ink.
The artist is well-known as a master of drawing bamboo.
