Japanese chichen (fowl) is called "Niwatori". Niwatori is counted one of the 12 animals of the Oriental Zodiac (Eto, Chinese calendar). Niwatori symbolizes aggressive action and brings good luck. For reference, chichen does not imply coward or faint heart at all in Japanese.
