Japanese painter belonged to the Shijo school.
Taisui was born in Senba of Osaka in November of 1868 (The first year of the Meiji era).
His real name was Ebira Shikataro.
He became a disciple of Kubota Tosui and he also studied the painting style of Nishiyama Hoen.
Taisui was a leading figure of the Osaka painting circle.
He was good at painting flowers & birds, landscape pictures.
He died on January 14 of 1955 at the age of 86.

Description

The painting part is yellowed.
It seems to have been re-mounted, however, it is a little wavy.
There are some spots and stains on the painting, though, these are not so noticeable.
As a whole, the condition of this scroll is not bad.
It is very tasteful scroll.
