      Kanshi poet between the end part of the Edo period and the Meiji era.
      Kozan was born in Ohmi Province (present Shiga Prefecture).
      His real name was Yokoyama Sensuke.
      Kozan is his psuedonym.
      He studied under Yanagawa Seigan, Fujimori Koan and others.
      Kozan served Yoshida Domain of Mikawa Province, however, he was incarcerated due to the Ansei Purge.
      After the Meiji Restoration in 1868, he served the Meiji Government as a clerk, though, he quit the job for a short period.
      Since then, he flourished as a poet.
      He deceased on April 10 of the 43rd year of the Meiji era at the age of 97.

    • Description

      This scroll was drawn around 1893.
      There are some spots and stains in whole.
      A small hole at the top of the mounting is recognized.
      As a whole, the condition of this scroll is not so bad.
      A Kanji poem regarding Kusunoki Masashige (1294 - 1336), very famous and loyal Samurai knight to Emperor Godaigo, is written in good form.
