Confucianist and chirographer between the end part of the Edo period and
the Meiji era.
Ian was born in Onomichi of Bingo Province (present Hiroshima Prefecture).
He became a disciple of Rai Sanyo, great master historian, thinker, Kanshi
poet and literal man.
Later, Ian went to Edo and studied at the Shoheiko established by the Tokugawa
Shogunate.
He deceased in 1885 at the age of 80. |

Description |
This scroll was drawn in the fall of 1884.
Unfortunately, there are quite a few faint spots.
As a whole, the condition of this scroll is not so bad.
A Kanji poem in two lines regarding firefly is written in good form. |
