Painter Horie Shunsai (1900 - ?)

Shunsai was born in Toyama Prefecture in 1900.
He graduated with the Kyoto School of Painting Art.
He became a pupil of Yamamoto Shunkyo, a giant of the Maruyama school.
Shunsai was good at painting the Sansui landscape views, flowers & animals, and he flourished as giant of Kyoto circle of painters.
His another pen name before Shunsai was Ikko.
