Keiju was born in Mie Prefecture in the 24th year of the Meiji era.
His real given name was Yasushi.
Keiju is a pseudonym.
He graduated from the Kyoto Technical School of Arts (kyoto Bijutsu Gakko)
and became a disciple of Imao Keinen to study the Shijo-Maruyama School
painting style.
Keiju became an adopted child of Keinen, however, the relationship was
dissolved later.
Keiju was good at painting flowers-and-birds,and also four-season landscapes.
He deceased in the 40th year of the Showa era at the age of 74.

The scroll is slightly foxed overall as it was painted years ago.
There are several spots at the bottom of the mounting.
There are many faint spots on the painting part.
As a whole, the condition of this scroll is not so bad.
Straw dwellings under the moon in the fall are painted artistically and
quaintly using Japanese traditional painting methods.
