• PainterIshiguro Unpo (1886 - 1962)

  Unpo was born in Nagoya city of Aichi Prefecture in the 19th year of the Meiji era.
  He studied painting under Okamoto Ryunan and Hashimoto Dokuzan.
  Unpo lived in Nagaya and flourished in the Chukyo circle of painters.
  He was good at painting flowers & birds.
  He deceased in the 37th year of the Showa era at the age of 75.

  There are some faint spots.
  As a whole, the condition of this scroll is not bad.
  The rising sun and seashore view with Matsu tree are drawn well.
  This scroll is especially good for Chanoyu Japanese tea ceremony.
  Of course, it is also OK to hang it in an ordinary room.
