Chikuha was born in Niigata Prefecture.
His real given name was Somekichi.
Younger brother of Otake Etsudo, older brother of Otake Kokkan.
Chikuha studied painting under Sasada Unseki, Kawabata Gyokusho and Kobori
Tomoto.
Chikuha was accepted for the Bunten Exhibitions for three times.
("Takekari" at the 3rd exhibition, "Otozure" at the
4th and "Mizu" at the 5th.)
In 1919, he established the painting organization The "Hakka-Sha".

Description |
The scroll is slightly foxed overall as it was painted years ago.
There are some spots and stains.
Although, the condition of this scroll is not bad.
This is large scroll.
The sun, flying Tsuru birds (cranes), Matsu tree and waves are painted
artistically.
Those are all considered as fortunate things in Japan.
