Artist Kaneko Beiken (1883 - 1946)

Beiken was born in Saitama Prefecture.
His given name is Sugizaburo.
He studied painting under Komuro Suiun and Yamaoka Beika.
Beiken was accepted for the 4th Teiten Exhibition in 1922 for the first time.
And he was accepted for the 6th one in 1925 for the second time.
Totally, he was accepted for the Teiten Exhibitions several times.

Description

This scroll was drawn in the summer of 1918.
It is slightly foxed overall as it was drawn years ago.
There are some spots, stains and folds.
Although, the condition of this scroll is not bad.
Sansui landscape view at a farming village is drawn nicely.
A man is playing a whistle under the moon.
The scroll looks good !
