Kaitei was born in Kyoto as the 3rd son of Ito Jinsai.
Kaitei learned Confucianism and other studies under his father and his
half brother Ito Togai.
In 1726, he was invited by Nagai Naozane, the daimyo of Takatsuki Domain
in Settsu Province, and he became an official Confucianist of that domain.
He was good at writing. |

Description |
This scroll was drawn in the winter of 1764.
There are a few big stains at the top part of the mounting, however, those
are not so noticeable.
There are some spots, stains and folds on the drawing part.
Although, the condition of this scroll is not bad in consideration of the
passage of time.
A Kanji poem regarding Arashiyama mountain in Kyoto is written in good
form. |
