Born in Satsuma Province (Kagoshima Prefecture).
Lieutenant general of the Army of Japan.
Participated in the Japan-Russia War (1904-1905) as a brigade commander.
After retirement from the army, became the chief priest of the Kirishima Shrine.
Toshimichi Okubo, the great revolutionist and statesman of Japan, is Toshisada's blood relative (cousin).
