Miyake Gogyo (1864 - 1919)

Gogyo was born in Kyoto in the last days of the Samurai period.
His real given name was Seizaburo.
Gogyo is a pseudonym.
He studied the Shijo style painting under Morikawa Sobun.
He was accepted for the Japan Domestic Exhibition, Bunten Exhibiton and others.
He teached at the Kyoto Municipal School of Arts and Crafts.
He deceased in 1919 at the age of 56.
