Description

We estimate this scroll was drawn before the Second World War.
There are some spots, stains and folds in whole.
As a whole, the condition of this scroll is not so bad.
Daruma (Bodhidharma) is drawn powerfully using Japanese Fude brush.
A Kanji phrase (San) is also drawn at the top.
Bodhidharma is regarded as the patriarch of Zen Buddhism in China.
He is said to have lived in a cave nearby the Shaolin Temple where he faced a wall in meditation for nine years.
