Oka Bunto (1875 - 1943)

Bunto was born in Yosano county of Kyoto Prefecture.
After the graduation of the Kyoto Municipal School of Arts, Bunto became a disciple of Yamamoto Shunkyo.
In 1911, Bunto was accepted for the 5th Bunten Exhibition.
After that, he participated actively in the Bunten Exhibitions, Teiten Exhibitions and other official exhibitions.
Originally, he was good at painting flowers & birds.
Though, he challenged a variety of painting subjects including the Nanga landscape views in the Bungin-ga style.

Description

This scroll was drawn in the fall of 1925.
It is rather long scroll.
There are some folds and small spots on the drawing part.
Although, the condition of this scroll is good.
A Sansui landscape view is drawn well in the Suiboku painting method.
