Artist Tateishi Chimata (1847 - 1929)

Japanese statesman in the Meiji era.
Chimata was born in Bicchu Province (=Now Okayama Prefecture).
He was elected for 3 times for the House of Representatives from the Freedom Party.
Participated in the movement for founding the Diet.

There are some spots and stains.
Several tears on the mounting are also recognized.
Although, the condition of this scroll is not bad.
A letter written by Tateishi Chimata to Kameyama Kuichiro is attached.
Chimata and Kuichiro are from the same country (Bicchu Province).
