      Nanga style painter.

      Gyoyo was born in the 9th year of the Meiji era.

      He also called himself Sugawara Tsuneyoshi.

      In 1945, he moved from Tokyo to Morioka city of Iwate Prefecture for safety.

      He deceased in the 21st year of the Showa era at the age of 71.

    • Description

      This scroll was drawn in 1940.

      It is long scroll.

      It may have been re-mounted.

      Though, there are some stains and a few small tears at the top of the mounting.

      Some faint folds are recognized on the drawing part.

      As a whole, the condition of this scroll is so-so.

      Although, a cuckoo (Kakko) couple on Japanese pine (Matsu) tree branch is painted artistically using Fude brush and Sumi inks.
