Unfortunately, there are spots and stains to some extent. Although, the condition of this scroll is not bad. The motif is a Noh player. Noh is Japanese traditional art. They play their roles with Noh masks on. The title of this Noh story is "Hakutosen". One of the famous stories. It is painted very elaborately. Good looking scroll. Please note that this scroll is not authenticated by a connoisseur. So, we cannot guarantee that this scroll was certainly painted by Eiga Yamakawa. |
